Wahoo KICKR Power Trainer

Looking to build strength in the off season indoors? The Wahoo KICKR Power indoor trainer’s large flywheel uses new algorithms to improve responsiveness and better replicate the sensation of riding on the road. So, whether free-riding or using online platforms like Zwift and Trainer Road, you will have the same experience you feel on your favorite outdoor rides.

The new KICKR bike trainer features a redesigned gearing and belt system that decreases noise caused by friction and vibration, creating just 61decibels. So, all you will hear is the pounding of your heart, not the pounding of your equipment.

Robust steel construction ensures our Wahoo KICKR trainer stays in place while you crank out the watts and can withstand years of abuse by the most demanding athletes. KICKR is the official trainer of Team Sky and Chris Froome.

“Use of the Wahoo KICKR forms a crucial part of rider preparation and recovery at races like the Tour de France. We demand a product that is reliable, robust and able to withstand the demands of the toughest races and conditions. The KICKR is also key to structured, indoor training programmes, providing a ‘real ride’ experience. We continue to value Wahoo as an important partner of Team Sky because they share our commitment to continuous improvement. They are proactive in the way they seek feedback and are always looking to provide an even better rider experience.” – Tim Kerrison, Team Sky’s Head of Performance Support

“The ride ‘feel’ of the new Wahoo KICKR is excellent. It’s a crucial part of my training and my preparation for the toughest stages – from summit finishes to time trials.” – Ian Boswell, Team Sky Rider

With over 2,000 watts of resistance and impressive durability, you are guaranteed to get the most out of your indoor training. You will never need to worry about pushing the KICKR’s limits, only yours. The KICKR can simulate up to a 20% grade.

A more reliable and accurate power measurement system (+/- 2%) provides a true workout experience, from free-riding to using online platforms like Zwift and Trainer Road.

Damn! $1,200?! For a trainer?! I could almost see the Snap but even that is a little pricey.

I’m using a Giant Cyclotron and I can get a fair maintenance workout with it. It would be nice to get hooked up to Zwift though. I have some friends who rave about it. Great post.

    1. I tried the KICKR at the Zwift Tour and at the CABDA show and was very impressed. May have to save up for next winter.

Part of me resists the notion of going for a mega pricey spinner. I ride a lot during the season (March thru December) so I like not having to work hard during my off months. On the other hand, if I could really build during the off season and start out in top shape on April First… Ooh, that’d be sexy! Hmmmmm…
